JD Edwards is a division of the software company, Oracle. Their ERP software, EnterpriseOne, is built to handle a broad range of applications across various industries, and its suite of tools provide support for financial, project, asset lifecycle, order, and manufacturing management.
Integrating Enterprise
One To facilitate data-sharing between the two systems–the ecommerce platform and the ERP–orders created by your customers in your Magento ecommerce platform are formatted as flat files that your EnterpriseOne can read. There are also API-level integrations available. We integrate your systems so that once an order is processed by the ecommerce platform, it populates an XML file and is sent to an internal server location.
EnterpriseOne then picks up this file, and processes the information–initiating production and fulfillment steps. After shipment a file is passed back to queue a shipment confirmation, and readying tokens for payment upon shipping. Additional ERP tasks, such as relaying customer and order data within accounting systems or processing tokenized payments through a separate payment gateway, can be triggered by your ERP once it’s been integrated with those systems.
Our Experience
We have successfully integrated EnterpriseOne with Magento ecommerce for clients, updating their ecommerce website and the EnterpriseOne implementation in place. By relaying data through a configured XML file, Magento was able to communicate to their EnterpriseOne ERP, providing a no-touch order process internally and a seamless customer experience.
